Clerk (Automotive) (NF-2091-I)
Starting: $6.75/ph, Location: Auto Hobby Shop
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs over-the-counter selling of a variety of automotive
parts. Explains the general use of products and refers patrons to a
senior staff member or automotive worker/mechanic for technical questions.
Records sales, makes change and wraps or bags merchandise. Works with
a cash register, collects shop fees and charges, and maintains a change
fund. Prepares and turns in cashier reports and receiving reports. Prices
merchandise according to pricing guides, replenishes stock as required,
and assists with inventories. Responsible for the overall appearance
of the retail store by preparing displays and cleaning areas as needed.
Answers telephone inquiries pertaining to towing, resale merchandise,
and other general information about the programs. Performs other duties
as assigned. Works under the supervision of the Automotive Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have training or experience which has provided
the knowledge, skill and ability to assist customers, provide information
and record and make proper change when receiving payments. Knowledge
of basic keyboarding techniques and knowledge of automotive parts is
hightly desirable.
